Meeting to Focus on Women in the Workplace

The Encino-based women’s group That New Network is holding an all day conference, entitled “Inheriting the Legacy of Generational Wisdom.” The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oakwood Worldwide in Toluca Hills, on Saturday, September 24. That New Network is billing the day as being “full of inspiration, information, powerful speakers, compelling workshops and networking with women of all ages.” “It’s going to be all about inheriting a legacy of women in the workforce. Women are not making the equal dollar in the workplace, so it’s important that we’re out there to support each other,” That New Network’s director Linda Peitzman said. “We do have a cross-section of people from various backgrounds and jobs. We want people to come who are interested in learning, sharing, enlightening, enriching and empowering.” For the approximately 100 attendees that it expects, That New Network has lined up an array of speakers. Jonnetta Chambers of Chambers Communications & Training will speak on the topic of “Womentoring.” Myriam-Rose Kohn of JEDA Enterprises will speak on “Surviving the Cinderella Complex.” Linnea McCord of Pepperdine University’s Graziado School of Business and Management will speak on “The 10 Commandments of Trust.” And finally, Dolores Ratcliffe of Intech Corita Communications Inc. will speak on “Knowledge is Power.” Prior to September 9, the conference will cost $68 for That New Network and National Association of Female Empowerment members and $84 for non-members. After that, the price will increase to $79 for members and $99 for non-members. For information, call (818) 995-4215.
