Earnings Soar at K-Swiss

K-Swiss Inc. today reported its fourth quarter earnings spiked nearly 80 percent to $15.6 million or $0.43 per diluted share on revenues of $88.4 million. That compares with net income of $8.7 million or $0.23 per diluted share on revenues of $80.4 million for the fourth quarter of 2003. For the full year, K-Swiss earned $71.3 million or $1.96 per diluted share on revenues of $484.1 million, versus net income of $50.1 million or $1.32 per share on revenues of $429.2 million in 2003. Officials at the Westlake Village-based company said they expect earnings to be in the range of $0.52 to $0.57 per diluted share in the first quarter of 2005 with revenues ranging between $138 million to $143 million. For the full year, K-Swiss said it expects earnings per share of about $1.70 to $1.80 per share on revenues ranging between $480 million and $500 million. K-Swiss shares fell $0.68 to $31 in early trading on Thursday.
