21st Century Exec Departs

The senior vice president of marketing has exited 21st Century Insurance Group as the company launches a new advertising campaign. G. Edward Combs had been with the Woodland Hills-based insurance company since 2000. Company officials said they have launched a search for a replacement for Combs. “We did some reorganization to streamline our operations on the marketing side, and it changed some rules and he felt it was a good time for him to do something different,” said Rick Andre, senior vice president of human resources at 21st Century. “He’s a good man, and we were sorry to lose him and we wish him the best.” No employees were laid off in the reorganization, Andre added. Combs had been recruited by 21st Century President and CEO Bruce Marlow, who had worked with him previously. 21st Century on Monday launched a new advertising campaign with the tagline, “Good people to call.” It is the first effort from the company’s new advertising agency, Dailey & Associates Advertising. 21st Century previously worked with Glyphix in Woodland Hills.
