The Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley was one of three agencies receiving money from the Alliance for Regional Stewardship. The economic alliance is looking to use its $10,000 from the Denver-based agency toward an upgrade of its computer system to add capacity, director Bruce Ackerman said. The money will be presented at a conference in May. The other two cities receiving the awards were Pittsburg and Seattle. “That’s healthy company to be in so I was very happy,” Ackerman said. “It’s nice when someone from the outside knows how good you are.” The Regional Stewardship Award money is used for building regional capacity for creating a livable community, an innovative economy along with social inclusion and collaborative governance.
