The Northeast Valley Health Corporation has launched an internal campaign to offer its over 600 employees the chance to participate in the May 1 walkout without disrupting services to patients. Posters in the clinic are encouraging staff to support human immigration policies by writing notes to President Bush and Senators Boxer and Feinstein on preprinted postcards, bringing extra postcards to friends and family, and signing a letter to the editor of the Los Angeles Time. Patients will be encouraged to take the same actions. The Northeast Valley Health Corporation serves more than 50,000 low-income and uninsured people in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys at 10 primary care sites and 12 women, infant and children sites.
