Easton Bell Sees Strong Quarter

Easton-Bell Sports reported net income more than doubled for the third quarter, rising to $5.7 million compared to $2.4 million for the same period last year. Sales at the Van Nuys marketer of branded athletic equipment rose 81 percent to $83.5 million for the quarter, which ended Sept. 30. Easton attributed its increase to the acquisition of its Easton Sports unit in the first quarter of the year and increased football helmet and apparel sales. Easton makes and markets products under the Easton, Bell, Riddell, Giro and other names.
