Electronic Sensor Technology Receives Orders From China Petroleum and Chemicals

Newbury Park-based Electronic Sensor Technology (EST), provider of homeland security and environmental solutions announced Wednesday that it has received multiple orders from China Petroleum and Chemicals through its distributor, Beijing R & D; Ltd. EST’s zNose technology has been successful at monitoring water from the Songhua River in northeast China that was contaminated in late 2005 after nearby chemical plant exploded. Sales for monitoring technology in security and environmental market are expected to increase, the company said. “ZNose of EST has proven to be cost effective and meeting the expectations of the customer’s applications,” said EST President Dr. Teong C. Lim, in a statement. The company said EST is especially attractive because controlling water pollution is a priority for the Chinese government.
