Semtech Signs Distribution Agreement

Semtech Corp. has signed a distribution agreement in which its semiconductors will be made available from the Digi-Key Corp, the companies announced Tuesday. Digi-Key has print and online catalogues to advertise Semtech’s power management, protection and embedded wireless modules. With innovation as a key to success for the Camarillo-based Semtech, it is imperative to the company’s sales efforts to have a good outlet for engineers designing prototypes, said Jose Vargas, director of worldwide sales and marketing. “The team at Digi-Key has built an excellent reputation in helping customers with these needs, and we are confident in the success of this partnership,” Vargas said. Power, protection and wireless integration have become challenges for Digi-Key customers, which makes the timing right for the company to offer Semtech products, Digi-Key President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Larson said. “These products, teamed with our commitment to fast turnaround and excellent customer service will be the success drivers for this partnership,” Larson said. Digi-Key is based in Thief River Falls, Minn.
