TechnoConcepts, Inc., a Van Nuys semiconductor manufacturer, announced Monday it has received conditional approval to form a subsidiary in Shanghai to design and manufacture digital television equipment. The subsidiary China Jinshilin Techno Ltd. was acquired from Shanghai Jinshilin Technologies Development Co. Ltd. in a sale that is expected to be finalized in April. China Jinshilin Techno will design, market and distribute Internet Protocol TV set-top boxes that allow for delivery of digital television programming received from the Internet to conventional audio/video inputs to television sets. The company expects to ship 100,000 of the units to the China, Taiwan and Japan markets by the end of the year. China Jinshilin Techno will also provide marketing, sales and technical support in China for TechnoConcepts’s True Software Radio technology that allows various mobile devices with different wireless frequencies to communicate with each other.
