Investors File Suit Against Vitesse

A New York-based law firm has filed a class action lawsuit against Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation on behalf of people who purchased common stock in the company between October 23, 2003 and April 26, 2006. The company announced on April 18 that it was appointing a special committee to investigate the timing of stock option grants, and on April 26 said that it could not guarantee the accuracy of its financial statements. The complaint, filed by Pomerantz Haudek Block Grossman & Gross LLP, alleges that the company failed to properly account for credits issued to or requested by customers, failed to apply payments to the appropriate accounts receivable and failed to properly account for stock options granted to senior officers and directors. People who purchased stock during that period have until July 3 to ask the United States District Court for the Central District of California to be named as a lead plaintiff.
