Pride Building New Lab

Camarillo-based Pride Business Development Holdings, Inc., a manufacturer of protective clothing, began construction of a ballistic testing laboratory used for body armor testing and certification. M. Michael Markow, chairman and CEO of Pride in a statement said the laboratory will reduce testing time due to its proximity to the company’s headquarters. It will longer have to use the sites of the National Institute of Justice to certify the body armor. Ari L. Markow, President of Pride said in a statement that the new facility will also cut testing costs. Testing at the Institute of Justice has cost the company as much as $10,000 per new ballistic system. The new laboratory in comparison will cost an average of $3,000 per system. “We expect our ballistic testing laboratory to pay for itself within the first three months of operation,” Markow said.
