Glendale Taps into Wind Power

Glendale Water & Power has inked an agreement to buy electricity from a Wyoming wind farm. The battery will utilize about 10 megawatts from 144 MW South West Wyoming wind generation facility in Unita County, Wyo., near the Utah border. The power amounts to about 28 gigawatt hours a year of renewable energy, enough to power 3,000 homes for 16 years, according to the city. About 14 percent of the Glendale battery’s power now comes from renewable energy.
