Technicolor Installs Digital Systems in Mann Theatres

The Mann Marketplace 4 theater in Glendale is the latest movie house to receive digital projection systems from Technicolor Digital Cinema. The installation is part of Burbank-based Technicolor Digital Cinema’s rollout of the North American beta test of its digital cinema equipment. The company, a business unit of Thomson, has also installed the equipment at five other theaters owned by Mann, including the world famous Grauman’s Chinese in Hollywood. “We are confident in the Technicolor beta test plan and are pleased with the outstanding digital cinema services Technicolor provides,” said Mann Theaters CEO Peter Dobson. “Our customers expect the highest quality state-of-the-art presentation, and digital cinema even further enhances the movie-going experience.” Thomson plans to have complete digital systems in as many as 5,000 theaters over the next four years.
