California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks was ranked 17th on the list of top schools offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees on the west coast in a study of higher education institutions by the magazine “U.S. News & World Report.” The college topped the list in freshman retention rate (81 percent) and the number of classes with 20 or fewer students (64 percent). It is 12th consecutive year the college has ranked on the upper portion of the rankings.
