QPC Lasers, Inc. received two contracts totaling $1 million from the U.S. Navy to deliver high-energy laser engine prototypes, the company announced Wednesday. The laser prototypes are being developed for potential deployment onto naval aviation platforms and use Sylmar-based QPC’s patented proprietary and patented semiconductor laser technologies. Development of the prototypes follows earlier contracts with the Navy for laboratory demonstrations, said company COO George Lintz. “There is no more demanding customer or application of QPC laser technologies than the U.S. military, and we are confident in our ability to cost effectively deliver superior performance,” Lintz said.
