Metro Approves $86 Million in New Buses

The Metro Board of Directors approved Monday purchasing up to 100 new high capacity buses at a cost of $86 million. The new buses can seat more passengers than the standard 40-foot bus and will be used to improve service on the most popular Metro bus lines. Delivery of the new buses is expected to be completed by spring 2008. “This purchase reaffirms Metro’s commitment to provide the best service for the bus riders of the Los Angeles region,” said Metro Chair Board and Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina.
