Pratt & Whitney Wraps Up Job Fair

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne wrapped up a job fair Wednesday to fill 300 engineering and non-technical positions. Some 350 job seekers turned out on Tuesday with another couple hundred attending on Wednesday, said company spokeswoman Erin Dick. The positions to be filled are primarily in the Canoga Park and Chatsworth facilities but also include the Alabama and Florida locations of the aerospace manufacturer. Some of the open positions are related to recent contract awarded to Pratt & Whitney. In July, the company received a $1.2 billion NASA contract to design, develop and test a J-2X engine to power the upper stages of the Ares 1 and Ares V launch vehicles. In August, the company signed a $975 million contract extension with NASA to continue maintaining the space shuttle main engines through 2010. Interested applicants can continue to apply for the jobs at the Pratt & Whitney website, Dick said.
