Calabasas-based engineering service provider National Technical Systems Inc. has acquired United States Test Laboratory LLC in Wichita, Kan. The closing price of NTS’ purchase of USTL was $12.5 million. The selling members of USTL may earn up to an additional $1.8 million if the company achieves an unspecified amount of revenue by the second anniversary of the acquisition’s closing date. USTL provides soft and hard body armor testing, helmets, firearm safety devices, handgun testing and stab resistance. “This acquisition aligns with our growth strategy to provide a wider breadth of services to government, military and law enforcement agencies,” NTS President and CEO William McGinnis stated.
