An executive of a Chatsworth communications company has been named president of the Encino Chamber of Commerce. Michael Turner, president of Bearsworth Communications Inc., will take over leading the 400-member chamber and 13-member board Feb. 24. “I think it’s a great opportunity to help the chamber grow,” he said. That growth will start, Turner said, by spreading the word about what the chamber offers to businesses. “My theme is extending the brand of the chamber,” he said. “We want to enhance the awareness in the community.” Turner said he plans to build that presence by going after new industries not represented in the current retail-heavy chamber roster, such as attorneys and financial planners. “We want to bring some of those sectors into the chamber,” he said. — Chris Coates
