Mayo Expansion Goes to City Council

The Santa Clarita Planning Commission approved the final environmental impact report on the 25-year master plan of Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. The final blueprints call for increasing hospital facilities by 322,800 feet, adding new a cardiac care, women’s car and neonatal intensive care units. The plans now await approval from the Santa Clarita City Council. The scope and scale of the expansion has been met with criticism from nearby residents, some of whom were at the Planning Commission meeting.
