Simi Bans Street Vendors

The Simi Valley City Council has voted to ban vendors from selling flowers, food or other products on city streets and sidewalks. The council voted unanimously to approve the ordinance, which will go into effect March 15 and places a 10-minute limit on how long a vendor can park in one spot before moving at least 500 feet. The City Council argued the measure would cut down on loitering and litter. Those in opposition, including street vendors, argue the rule is unfair.
