Several electronics retailers posted better than expected holiday sales results largely on the strength of flat-screen TV sales this season. Best Buy said its same store sales rose 7 percent in December, with domestic stores posting a 6.1 percent increase. Circuit City sales rose 4.2 percent, with domestic stores posting a 4.6 percent increase. Internationally, Circuit City stores open at least a year posted a 4.1 percent decline. Both retailers reported double-digit increases in flat screen TVs.
