City Targets Construction Site Noise

City officials are set to announce regulations for construction companies designed to curtail noise and other neighborhood inconveniences caused by these projects. Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa and City Councilman Jack Weiss will jointly announce the initiatives Friday, Jan. 12, in Sherman Oaks. The policies include requiring builders to publicly display posters outlining work hours, anti-noise practices and other rules designed to minimize the disruption to neighborhoods caused by construction. Residents will also be given guidance on how to notify city officials if violations are occurring. The announcement will take place at a construction site at 3691 Benedict Canyon at 10 a.m.
