Chatsworth-based 1105 Media Inc. has acquired Florida Educational Technology Corp., the producer of the one of the largest educational technology conferences for the K-12 market. Terms of the purchase of were not disclosed. The annual FETC Conference draws more than 8,000 attendees and features well over 500 companies that showcase technology products for the education market. In a statement, 1105 Media President and CEO Neal Vitale said the acquisition is an important step in the expansion of the company’s live events business serving the educational market. FETC will be merged into the 1105 Education Technology Group, which includes the monthly T.H.E. Journal and Campus Technology print publications, five websites, nine eNewsletters, and live events for the higher education technology market. “We believe our readers and advertisers will gain tremendous benefits from the added value FETC brings to our business,” said technology group publisher Wendy LaDuke.
