The Los Angeles Community College District has approved a master plan and final environmental report for an expansion of Mission College. The proposal for the Sylmar campus calls for a new health and fitness center and parking garage, additional classrooms and more amenities on the The master plan, however, calls for some construction on a seven-acre property at Eldridge Avenue and Harding Street that the district had planned to buy. However, a residential developer purchased the plot; the district is now milling over whether to use eminent domain to buy it. Construction is slated to being in April.
