Cheesecake Sees Same Store Hike in Quarter

The Cheesecake Factory Inc.’s newer Grand Lux Caf & #233; division, helped drive revenues upward in the second quarter, the company said. Calabasas Hills-based Cheesecake said its sales rose 16 percent to $373.2 million from $322.6 million in the second quarter of 2006, and same store sales rose 1.1 percent during the quarter, according to preliminary results. The company attributed the increase mostly to its Grand Lux outlets, which saw a 4.7 percent same-store sales increase. Same store sales for The Cheesecake Factory chain rose 0.8 percent. The company’s full quarter results will be reported on July 24.
