Hotel workers at the Glendale Hilton are escalating their campaign against the hotel owner, Eagle Hospitality Properties Trust, by declaring a boycott of one of Eagle’s properties. The boycott of the Eagle-owned Boston Embassy Suites at Logan International Airport marks the ninth hotel under boycott. In April 2006, Glendale Hilton workers called for a boycott of their own hotel. Eagle owns 13 hotels. The workers are demanding better wages, more affordable health care and better working conditions. In September 2005, the hotel employees requested a process to decide whether to form a union, which was met with resistance from the hotel. More than 30 groups have pulled their business from the boycotted properties, totaling more than $1 million in lost revenue.
