Simulations Plus, Inc. Receives $100,000 Research Grant

Pharmaceutical software developer Simulations Plus, Inc. has been awarded a $100,000 Small Business Innovation Research Grant. The National Cancer Institute of the U.S. National Institutes of Health notified the Lancaster-based company it would receive the research grant on June 18. Use of the grant funds are expected to result in improved predictive capabilities in the company’s ADMET Predictor software product, company officials said. “We’re very excited about this award because it is the first such grant to our life sciences team, and it means additional support for our in-house product development and company growth,” said Michael Bolger, chief scientist and director of life sciences for Simulations Plus. “Although the science behind this study is quite sophisticated, it is clear that the speed with which these descriptors can be calculated determines the speed at which they can be used in predictive software models for many important drug properties.” Simulations Plus, Inc. is a developer of drug discovery and development software, which is used in the conduct of drug research by pharmaceutical, biotechnology and drug delivery companies worldwide.
