Technicolor Tests Digital Theater Systems with Christie Projectors

Technicolor Digital Cinema selected projectors from Christie USA for its roll out in North America of digital cinema systems, the company announced Monday. The Christie CP2000-X projector will be installed in up to 120 test theater locations based on results of testing the projector by Technicolor at its Burbank facility. Technicolor chose Christie because of the projector’s reliability and excellence in presentation performance, said Technicolor Digital Cinema COO Curt Behlmer. The company’s beta test of digital cinema equipment covers 250 screens and uses projectors from three projector manufacturers, including Christie, in combination with two servers. The beta test is part of a broader roll out by Technicolor to get complete digital theater systems in up to 5,000 screens over the next three to four years.
