Technicolor Expands Test Theaters for Digital Cinema

Technicolor Digital Cinema has added theater chains in the Midwest and New England regions to test its digital theater systems, the company has announced. Deals with Wehrenberg Theatres and Zyacorp Entertainment brings to five the number of theater chains using Technicolor digital theater systems. Wehrenberg, based in St. Louis, operates 15 theater complexes with 204 screens in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. Zyacorp theaters will install 22 systems in theaters in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Burbank-based Technicolor Digital Cinema is also testing its digital cinema equipment in theaters owned by ArcLight Cinema Co., Mann Theatres, and National Amusements. “We are committed to providing high-quality digital cinema installations and services to all exhibitors, regardless of size, from national circuits to smaller independents,” said Technicolor Digital Cinema COO Curt Behlmer, in a statement. Technicolor Digital Cinema is a division of Thomson.
