The state’s Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program has expanded to include Ventura County. The program by the California Department of Insurance offers low-income drivers with a clean driving record to chance to purchase insurance for less than $400 a year. Six counties, including Ventura County, were added to the program, which had been in place in 14 counties, including L.A. County.
