The Federal Trade Commission has launched an inquiry over ValueClick Inc.’s lead generation practices, ValueClick reported. The Westlake Village-based online advertising and marketing company said it believes it is “compliant with all current state and federal regulations pertaining to lead generation activities,” and it is fully cooperating with the FTC’s investigation. The FTC is looking into ValueClick’s practice of offering consumers a free gift of substantial value and some other of its practices with regard to driving traffic to some of its Web sites.
