Chamber Members to Gather For UCC Mayor’s Event Oct. 1

October 1st is the date the United Chambers of Commerce of the San Fernando Valley and its member Chambers are holding the third annual Mayor’s Luncheon, bringing Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa directly to the businesses and citizens of the San Fernando Valley. Mayors from neighboring cities Agoura Hills, Calabasas, San Fernando and Simi Valley are also being honored. The luncheon is being presented by title sponsor the Los Angeles Times as well as many other sponsors, including Wells Fargo Bank, the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Westfield Topanga/ Promenade and other benefactors and friends. The Mayor’s luncheon, which was begun by United Chambers’ Past Chair J. Richard Leyner, has become the signature event of the organization. The United Chambers of Commerce serves as an umbrella organization and united voice for the 20-plus Chambers of Commerce and other business associations that it represents in the San Fernando Valley. In its inception year, the Mayor used his speech at the event as the kick-off announcement for his plans for LAUSD. Last year he further stated his goals for the City and talked about his first year in office. Each year Mayor Villaraigosa has spoken to a sell-out crowd. All of the Chambers of Commerce and groups that are members of the United Chambers will be represented at the event. “The continued success and growth of the Mayor’s Luncheon is a showcase for the tremendous influence that the United Chambers of Commerce has on the business community and the Valley’s legislators. I am proud to be an integral part of this event,” Leyner said. Ivy Weiss
