IPC The Hospitalist Company Inc. announced Oct. 11 that it would implement a new program at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla. North Hollywood-based IPC will provide hospitalist services for medical/surgical patients, including those admitted through the emergency department. Dr. Carmen Coiscou was selected as the lead physician for the program and started full time at the hospital on Oct. 1. “We are eager to serve the patients at Lakewood Ranch, a new hospital with state-of-the art technology that shares our mission to deliver optimum quality care,” said Larry Hanan, executive director of IPC-Florida. “Our hospitalist team is backed by IPC experience, infrastructure and technology to help ensure efficient and effective inpatient care.” Lakewood Ranch is a 120-bed acute care hospital that is a member of the Manatee Healthcare System and a subsidiary of Universal Health Services Inc.
