QPC Lasers Inc. was awarded a $750,000 contract for high power fiber laser pump engines for a major U.S. defense customer. The new contract brings to $1.75 million the work Sylmar-based QPC is doing for this customer this year. This contract further enables QPC to refine its third generation laser technologies uses in military and commercial applications, said Executive Vice Chairman George Lintz. The product QPC will make for the defense customer uses patented chip technology, high power high brightness lasers, and rugged military fiber coupled module production capability designed for reliable operation in demanding military environments.
