Bank of America announced that it was raising its rate to $3 for non-Bank of America customers withdrawing money from one of its 10,300 branch-location machines. The $1 increase will not be implemented at the bank’s more than 6,300 ATM machines in public venues such as malls, stadiums, restaurants and movie theatres, where the fee will remain $2. In a news release, Bank of America said the increase was due to its upgrading the bank’s ATM network.
