Comerica Opens New Office

As one bank gives its image a make-over, another expands its services to small businesses in California, including in the Valley. Comerica Bank, one of the top 20 banking companies in the U.S. for small business loans, announced Sept. 11 that it is expanding its services to small California businesses. The bank will open an office in Sherman Oaks, as well as in Millbrae, Costa Mesa, San Diego, San Jose and Santa Cruz, that will specialize in financial services for small businesses. The move is Comerica Bank’s latest in its expansion in the Western market. “Small businesses are a leading source for job growth,” said Peggy Bradshaw, Comerica’s national director of small-business banking, “and our new small business offices are centrally located to better serve the needs of growing small businesses in California’s metropolitan markets.” Meanwhile, Glyphix Advertising has been selected by Western Commercial Bank in Woodland Hills to work with the company to create brand awareness, fine-tune corporate identity and expand its growing customer base. “Now that we have successfully finished our first year, we felt it was time to raise the bar and focus on the overall brand we are creating at the bank,” said Western Commercial President Carl Raggio. “We chose Glyphix because they spent the time understanding how we do business and came up with a brand strategy that we think truly defines the art of business banking.” For the last 13 years, Glyphix, which is based in Woodland Hills, has been working with Valley business clients such as 21st Century Insurance, Digital Insight, Montage Development, Insync, Litton and Syncor.
