Grant Thornton LLP, a global accounting and business advisory firm, recently named Stephen V. Masterson partner in charge of its Woodland Hills office. Masterson replaces Jim Pulsipher, who headed the Woodland Hills office since its opening in 2005. Masterson joined Grant Thornton in 2002 after 11 years with Arthur Anderson LLP. At Grant Thornton he led the growth of the advisory services practice for the firm’s Western region. At the Woodland Hills office, Masterson will focus on expanding Grant Thornton’s market in the San Fernando Valley and giving back to the community. “We want to be part of this community as a firm and as individuals,” Masterson said. “We want to get to know this community and have them get to know us. We want to give as much as we receive.” Grant Thornton’s Woodland Hills office currently employs about 45 people. The office plans to double that number through hiring external auditors, tax professionals and business personnel over the coming months. Grant Thornton has offices in 112 countries, including 51 in the United States.
