Business owners can learn more about the benefits of the Santa Clarita enterprise zone at an outreach event taking place Sept. 26. The outreach effort by the city will help educate local businesses on the substantial tax-savings opportunities for new and existing business growth and job generation in Santa Clarita. Tax advantages include hiring tax credits, sales or use tax credits, business expense deductions, net interest deductions, and net operating loss carryover deductions. The outreach effort takes place at 2 p.m., in City Hall Council Chambers, 23920 Valencia Blvd. Preceding the kickoff, the City of Santa Clarita will host an Enterprise Zone Workshop on at 1 p.m. The free informational workshop will serve to educate banking professionals on what income tax credits and deductions apply to banking institutions, how to determine whether business clients are eligible for the hiring tax credits, the do’s and don’ts to pass on to business clients regarding the application process, and where to go for help or more information.
