A tentative contract was reached between CBS news writers and the network, media reports announced. The proposed deal affects 500 CBS employees in four cities, including Los Angeles. The network owns KCBS and KCAL in Studio City. The preliminary deal struck between CBS and the Writers Guild of America gives the union staff raises of 3.5 percent annually plus a $3,700 contract bonus. The contract would run through April 1, 2010, the Associated Press reported.
