The San Fernando Valley Business Journal was the winner of a reporting award in the annual competition sponsored by the Alliance of Area Business Publications (AABP). The Business Journal received the silver in the “Best Scoop” category for a June 2007 story written by Shelly Garcia on layoffs at Technicolor leading to the sale of its Camarillo campus. The AABP membership includes some of the most respected business journals across the U.S., Canada and Australia including the Los Angeles Business Journal and the various Crain’s publications. The award was presented June 21 at the organization’s annual conference in Charleston, S.C. It is the paper’s sixth award in the past seven years.
