A higher number of shipped microturbines were not enough to bring a positive financial result for Capstone Turbine Co. The Chatsworth-based developer and manufacturer of low-emission energy systems reported a net loss of $36.1 million, or $0.25 per diluted share, on revenues of $31.3 million for the fiscal year ending March 31. That narrows the net loss of $36.7 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, on revenues of $21 million reported from fiscal 2007. Capstone shipped 434 units in fiscal 2008, compared to 277 units in the prior fiscal year. The company also announced a $3.5 million deal with OfficePower Inc. to place its microturbines in three office buildings in New York City.
