Metro staff has recommended an existing railroad right-of-way as the route for an extension of the Orange Line busway. The right-of-way along Canoga Avenue was chosen for the estimated $191 million project because of its cost-effectiveness, minimal environmental impacts, and quicker transit travel times, according to Metro. The decision will displace about 60 businesses that lease land from Metro on the right-of way. The Metro Board of Directors will consider the recommendation at its June 26 meeting.
