Simulations Plus to Partner with Northeastern University

Simulations Plus Inc. has partnered with Northeastern University to fund a research project to measure when drugs dissolve in animals and humans. The data from the research will give a better position to estimate dissolution of new drug molecules in various parts of the gastrointestinal tract, said Walt Woltosz, chairman and chief executive officer of Simulations Plus, based in Lancaster. “This is the first such investment we’ve made. We’re looking for other such investment opportunities to further the science in our field while enhancing our products and services,” Woltosz said. Moreover, the collaboration will yield a database that Simulations Plus believes many companies will be interested in licensing, according to Ron Creeley, vice president of marketing and sales for Simulations Plus.
