CITY HALL , A down economy took the Alex Theatre’s fourth-quarter earnings with it, contributing to a year-end operating loss of $468,502 for the historic city-subsidized venue, according to a report that administrators are scheduled to present to the Redevelopment Agency. Even with the agency’s annual $415,000 grant, the theater ended the 2007-08 fiscal year down $53,502, according to the report.
