Film Permit Agency Names New President

Paul Adley, an attorney with a background with not for profits, has been named as the new president of film permit coordinating agency FilmLA. The not for profit’s board of directors chose Adley because he will bring a new and innovative perspective. “His vast knowledge and extraordinary background will lead FilmLA to become even more efficient, responsive and vital player in the Los Angeles landscape,” board Chairman Mel Kohn said. FilmLA coordinates on-location filming for feature films, television and commercials in the city of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles and Burbank school districts, the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster, and other clients. Adley replaces Steve MacDonald, who stepped down as president in March for a position with Strategic Development Solutions, a firm creating business and investment strategies in low-income communities. Adley was most recently Arizona state director for the Trust for Public Land, served as mayor of Fairfield, Conn. and deputy secretary of state.
