Meggit Fluid Controls in North Hollywood will develop and manufacturer control devices for Embraer midlight private jets. Terms of the detail between Meggit and Brazil-based Embraer were not disclosed. The company will make the pneumatic bleed air systems for the Legacy 500 jet that will enter service in 2012 and the Legacy 450 jet that enters service in 2013. A pneumatic bleed system is made up of valves and a controller to maintain an aircraft’s cargo, cabin and cockpit environments. Receiving the contract confirms the complementary capabilities and wealth of experience held by the specialist businesses in the fluid control unit, said President Ken Guss.
