Lippe Leaving Accounting Firm

Lisa Allison, 43, has been named managing partner at accounting firm Lippe, Hellie, Hoffer & Allison LLP (LHHA), located in Woodland Hills, replacing Greg Lippe, who founded the firm in 1994. “The partners chose a candidate who possesses multidisciplinary skills spanning the fields of audit, accounting, and consultancy, and has successfully met the challenges faced by our industry,” Lippe said. “Lisa has done an excellent job over the past year as co-managing partner and we believe that she will be an outstanding managing partner.” The 63-year-old Lippe will not be retiring, however. Instead, he has decided to switch tracks and become the newest executive of a film and video production and distribution company. Allison joined LHHA in 1999, and is given credit for providing a “major influence” in developing the firm’s audit and review services, as well as outsourced controller, and CFO services. Lippe has long been the Valley Industry and Commerce Association’s (VICA) issue champion advocating for incentives to stem the tide of runaway film production away from California and the United States. He is currently chair of VICA, an influential business-advocacy group. Lippe’s visibility and active involvement in community and business affairs in the region have helped put the five-partner firm closer to the public eye than many other firms of similar size. In fact, from 2003 to earlier this year, Lippe wrote a recurring column about taxes and other government policies affecting business for the Business Journal. “So many people hold Greg in such high esteem that it has provided the firm with more opportunities to talk about our…mission and our goal to go beyond the numbers when advising our clients,” Allison said. Allison is active in many community, professional, and business organizations in her own right. Her professional affiliations include the American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs, American Association of University Women, and a business group called Provisors
