EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Minority Owned Businesses List has changed slightly since it was published last year. The no. 1 company from 2009, iQstor Networks, did not respond this year. Natel Engineering, Allied Industries and SADA Systems claimed the top three positions respectively. Ranked by the number of employees working in the greater San Fernando Valley, the List also gives the percentage of ownership and ethnicity of the company’s controlling executive. Many of the companies on this year’s List are professional services firms, such as insurance, consulting and marketing – By Josh Dausch THE PACESETTER This year’s top ranked company is Natel Engineering, whose corporate headquarters is located in Chatsworth. It has an additional California branch in Carlsbad and an out of state facility in Carson City, NV. It is a vertically integrated electronics manufacturer specializing in state of the art equipment and technologies. This is Natel Engineering’s second appearance in three years on the Minority Owned Businesses List with 231 local employees and 344 companywide.
