Panavision Opens Camera Rental Facility in Atlanta

Panavision Inc. has opened a facility in Atlanta to provide cameras for production work taking place there. The move by Woodland Hills-based Panavision contributes to Georgia building a film-friendly environment, said John Schrimpf, vice president of U.S. regional operations for Panavision. “Atlanta has become a very attractive place to shoot because of the variety of locations, its strong infrastructure and its excellent distribution system with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” Schrimpf said. The opening of Panavision’s facility adds to Georgia’s combination of infrastructure, financial incentives, and deep, a talented and professional workforce for the entertainment industry, said Heidi Green, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. “As one of the most recognized names in the entertainment industry both in product excellence and customer service, Panavision’s presence in the state will provide producers and directors even greater access to those industry assets that make for a successful, awarding-winning production,” Green said.
